i love God. my family. my kiddos. hearing my son burst out laughing. watching my daughter dance. my girlfriends. photography. nikon. light. shadows. blue skies. nature. being barefoot. the sun on my skin. driving with my windows rolled down and my music turned up. the smell of firepits at the beach as I drive towards my home. the beach. waves. sand between my toes. seashells. being outdoors. camping. summertime. music. books. and did I mention photography?
i miss mckenna michelle and madeleine lillian. aunt florence. my grandparents. summer vacation. swinging on the bars at recess.
i remember square dancing with aunt florence. climbing trees. walking to school. playing at atlantis park. rollerskating in the church parking lot. swimming in nana and papa's pool. the smell of eucalyptus leaves under my bicycle tires. that I couldn't wait to grow up. running through the sprinklers. camping. my first kiss. backpacking to the waterfalls of havasupai. fireworks in front of our home on the 4th of july. driving a car at age 13 in mexico. my first love.
i still have my baby blanket. stuffed animals from my childhood. handwritten notes from my grade school friends. my mom’s kodak brownie starflash camera. rocks and seashells I collected as a child. the seashell tommy gave me in mulege, mexico. hope. my daddy’s heart. dreams as big as the sky.
i just want my kiddos to be happy and healthy. more time in a day. to photograph the world. to serve others. to make a difference. to matter. to be loved.
